I ve contacted your office three times in the past 10 days by email and fax and have gone so far as to file a Freedom of Information Act request with your district. But I have not heard back from you. If you could email me back with an answer it will be most appreciated. In the rare instances when a school board votes to fire a tenured teacher, for cause, the most common choices are: for the teacher to resign, enter into a negotiated employment settlement agreement or appeal the case to a tenure hearing officer. But in theory, a tenured teacher could deliberately choose to shoulder the stigma of being fired by doing none of the above. Can you recall this actually happening in your school district during the past five years? Please email whether or not your district has experienced this scenario. I can be reached at: (217) 525-8201 or at sng@springnet1.com. My fax number is: (217) 525-8206.
